GOT QUESTIONS?

We’ve Got Answers

Everything you wanted to know about Star Burger, the ranch, and what goes into every burger we serve.

  • We're the Estrella family — a Cuban-American family with a ranch in Mt. Pleasant, East Texas and a deep belief that a better burger starts with better beef. "Estrella" means star in Spanish, which is where the name comes from. This isn't a chain that licensed a concept or bought beef from a catalog. We own the land. We raise the cattle. We make the food. Every burger you order has our family name on it — literally.

  • Our first restaurant is at 4901 SW 8th St, Miami, FL 33134 — right on Calle Ocho, on the border of Coral Gables and Little Havana. It felt right. The neighborhood's energy, its roots, its realness — it matches ours.

  • It means exactly what it sounds like. The beef in your burger was raised on our family's ranch in East Texas — not sourced through a national distributor, not blended from a dozen suppliers. It goes from our land to our griddle. No middlemen. No shortcuts. That's not a marketing line. That's the actual supply chain.

  • Most burger spots — even the good ones — buy from third-party distributors. Some use grass-fed beef, but many finish their cattle on corn or grain. We don't. Our beef is 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, raised on a single-source ranch we own. No hormones. No antibiotics. No grain finishing. Just cattle that lived and ate the way cattle are supposed to. You can taste the difference — cleaner, more mineral, more beef.

  • All of it. Every beef patty on our menu — from the Lone Star to the Cattleman — is 100% grass-fed and grass-finished from our ranch. That includes our Homemade Chili. There's no upsell. No premium tier. That's just the standard here.

  • Yes. Our cattle are raised without added hormones or antibiotics. That's not a certification we applied for after the fact — it's just how our family ranch operates.

  • Generally, yes — grass-fed and grass-finished beef tends to have a better omega-3 to omega-6 ratio, higher CLA levels, and fewer calories per serving compared to conventionally grain-finished beef. But honestly? We raise cattle this way because it's the right way to do it. The health stuff is a bonus. The flavor is the proof.

  • A smash burger is made by pressing — smashing — a fresh ball of beef flat against a screaming-hot griddle. That contact triggers the Maillard reaction: proteins and sugars caramelize on the surface, building a deeply flavored, lacey-edged crust. More surface area. More crust. More flavor. It's not a trend. It's physics and heat doing exactly what they're supposed to do.

  • Smash burgers are cooked through — that's the technique, and it's the point. The thin profile and high heat cook the beef fast and completely, giving you that perfect crust without drying out the center. We wouldn't change it even if we could. Trust the process.

  • Yes — gluten-free buns and lettuce wraps are available as substitutes on any burger. Just let us know when you order. Our beef, most sauces, and several sides are naturally gluten-free. If you have a specific allergen concern, ask our team and we'll walk you through it.

  • Fast-casual, counter service. Order at the counter or online, and we'll have it out to you fast and fresh. No reservations, no fuss.
